Surgical tooth extraction is a procedure used to remove teeth that cannot be taken out with standard forceps alone, typically because the tooth is broken at the gum line, has curved or fused roots, or is partially embedded in bone. The dentist makes a small incision in the gum and may remove a small amount of bone to access the tooth safely.
