Nessun cambio dell'ultimo minuto.
Cosa succede dopo il rientro a casa?
The Rayner EMV is a European-engineered Extended Depth of Focus (EDOF) intraocular lens that provides a smooth, continuous range of clear vision from intermediate to far distances, with functional near vision. Unlike trifocal lenses that split light into distinct focal points, the EDOF design elongates the focus, resulting in fewer halos and glare — making it an excellent choice for patients who prioritise quality distance and intermediate vision with minimal visual disturbances.
The EDOF design avoids splitting light into discrete focal rings, dramatically reducing the halos and starbursts that some patients experience with trifocal lenses.
Rather than three fixed focal points, the EMV provides an elongated range of focus — creating seamless transitions from intermediate to far distances.
Reduced optical phenomena make the EMV particularly suitable for patients who drive frequently at night or work in low-light environments.
Manufactured by Rayner in the UK with over 75 years of IOL expertise, the EMV meets the highest European CE-marking standards.
Day 1
Post-Operative Rest
Mild grittiness and light sensitivity are normal. Start your medicated drop schedule and wear the protective shield at night.
Days 2-7
Rapid Improvement
Vision improves significantly within 48 hours. Light activities resume. The second eye is scheduled for treatment.
Weeks 2-4
Visual Maturation
The brain adapts to the extended depth of focus. Distance and intermediate vision continue to sharpen. Fewer adaptation issues compared to trifocal lenses.
Durata
15-20 minutes per eye
Degenza
Day clinic
Recupero
1-2 weeks
Permanenza
Permanent (lifetime lens)
Anestesia
Topical (numbing drops)
Risultati Visibili

Trifocal lenses split light into three distinct focal points (near, intermediate, far), which can cause halos. EDOF lenses elongate the focal range for smooth continuous vision with fewer optical side effects, but near vision may require reading glasses for very small text.
Most patients can read normal-sized text (menus, phones, labels) comfortably. Very fine print or extended close-up reading may benefit from light reading glasses. Distance and intermediate vision are typically glasses-free.
Yes, this is one of the key advantages. The EDOF design produces significantly fewer halos and starbursts compared to trifocal lenses, making it one of the best options for patients who drive regularly at night.
EDOF is ideal if you prioritise visual quality and minimal side effects over absolute glasses-free near vision. Many patients prefer slightly limited near range in exchange for sharper distance vision and virtually no halos.
The price of €1,600 is per eye. Each eye is treated in a separate session, typically 3-7 days apart, to ensure optimal safety and monitoring.
