Types of Chin Implants

By Material

Solid Silicone — the most widely used chin implant material worldwide. Solid silicone implants are firm yet slightly flexible, easy to shape during surgery, and can be removed or replaced if necessary. They do not integrate with bone, sitting in a pocket between the bone and the soft tissue. MedProper uses FDA-approved solid silicone implants.

Medpor (Porous Polyethylene) — a rigid implant with a porous surface that allows bone and tissue to grow into it, creating a more permanent fixation. Medpor implants are more difficult to remove if revision is needed, but they have a lower displacement rate. Used selectively for patients who require significant augmentation.

By Shape
