Sinus Lift (Sinus Floor Elevation)

For upper jaw implants in the molar and premolar region, a sinus lift may be needed if the sinus floor has descended into the area where implants need to be placed. This is a routine procedure in implant dentistry and is performed either simultaneously with implant placement (closed sinus lift) or as a separate procedure 4-6 months before implant placement (open sinus lift).

Bone grafting costs at MedProper: EUR 300 to EUR 600 per area, depending on the type and extent of grafting required. Sinus lift: EUR 400 to EUR 800 per side. These costs are quoted separately from the implant package and are only charged if clinically necessary.

Alternatives to Bone Grafting

In many cases, bone grafting can be avoided entirely through advanced implant techniques:

• Tilted implants (All-on-4 protocol): The posterior implants are angled to engage available bone, bypassing areas of atrophy.
• Short implants: Modern short implants (6-8mm) can be placed in areas with limited bone height, supported by clinical evidence showing equivalent long-term success.
• Zygomatic implants: For severe upper jaw bone loss, zygomatic implants anchor into the cheekbone and eliminate the need for extensive grafting. Available at MedProper from EUR 2,300 per implant.

During your consultation, the surgeon will assess your bone using a 3D CBCT scan and recommend the most appropriate approach. MedProper's philosophy is to avoid unnecessary bone grafting whenever a less invasive alternative exists.

Dental Implant Warranties and Guarantees

Implant Body Warranty

• Straumann: Lifetime warranty from the manufacturer. If a Straumann implant fails due to a manufacturing defect at any point, it is replaced free of charge.
• Nobel Biocare: Lifetime warranty from the manufacturer, under the same terms as Straumann.
• Osstem: 10-year warranty from the manufacturer.
• Madigma: 5-year warranty from the manufacturer.

Prosthetic Warranty (MedProper)

• Zirconia full-arch prosthesis: 5-year warranty against material defects, fracture, and delamination.
• Individual zirconia crowns: 5-year warranty.
• Temporary acrylic prosthesis: No warranty (temporary by design, intended for 3-6 months of use).

What Does the Warranty Cover?

If an implant fails (loosens, does not integrate, or fractures) within the warranty period and the failure is not attributable to patient negligence (e.g., failure to maintain oral hygiene, undisclosed heavy smoking, or trauma), MedProper will:

1. Arrange a replacement procedure at no charge for the surgical and implant costs.
2. Cover return accommodation (hotel) for the replacement procedure.
3. The patient is responsible for their own flight costs.

All warranty terms are documented in writing and provided to the patient before treatment begins.
