Dental calculus removal, also known as professional scaling, is a thorough cleaning procedure that removes hardened plaque (calculus or tartar) and bacterial deposits from tooth surfaces and along the gum line. Calculus cannot be removed by brushing alone and, if left untreated, leads to gum disease and bone loss. At MedProper Istanbul, scaling is performed using ultrasonic instruments for a fast, comfortable clean.
