The EMV Toric prioritises smooth vision and minimal halos over absolute near-range performance. If you drive at night or are sensitive to optical disturbances, the EDOF toric is the better choice. If maximum near vision without any glasses is your priority, a trifocal toric may suit you better.
Both are premium toric IOLs with comparable manufacturing complexity. The EMV Toric uses EDOF technology while the Alsanza Toric uses trifocal optics — they serve different visual priorities at a similar price point.
The Rayner haptic design provides excellent long-term rotational stability. Significant rotation is extremely rare (under 1%) and can be corrected with a brief repositioning procedure if it occurs.
