A fiber post is a tooth-coloured, flexible reinforcement placed inside a root-canal-treated tooth to provide internal support for a crown or large restoration. Unlike traditional metal posts, fiber posts distribute stress more evenly, reducing the risk of root fracture. How Does Fiber Post Work?
- 1Your dentist evaluates the root-canal-treated tooth to confirm sufficient root length and integrity for post placement.

- 3A fiber post of the appropriate diameter is selected, tried in for fit, and then bonded into the canal with resin cement.
- 4A core build-up is placed around the post to recreate the tooth's internal structure, ready for crown preparation.
