Fibre-reinforced post for root canal treated teeth requiring crown support
Is it safe?
Your hospital holds the same JCI accreditation as Cleveland Clinic and Johns Hopkins. Verified by TEMOS for international patient safety.
Will the price change?
Your price is locked before you book. Surgery, hospital, hotel, transfers, aftercare — one number, no extras.
What if something goes wrong?
Mandatory insurance required by Turkish law. If a revision is needed — flights, hospital, surgeon — covered. You never pay twice.
Who's my surgeon?
Confirmed before you pay. Full credentials, specialisation, and patient results shared upfront. No last-minute switch.
What happens after I fly home?
24/7 WhatsApp with your coordinator. Scheduled video check-ups with your surgeon. 12 months, not 12 days.
A fiber post is a tooth-coloured, flexible reinforcement placed inside a root-canal-treated tooth to provide internal support for a crown or large restoration. Unlike traditional metal posts, fiber posts distribute stress more evenly, reducing the risk of root fracture. At MedProper Istanbul, fiber posts are bonded using adhesive techniques for maximum retention and long-term durability.
Fiber posts have a modulus of elasticity similar to dentine, flexing with the tooth rather than creating stress concentrations that cause root fractures.
The tooth-coloured post does not create a grey shadow through the crown or gum, ideal for front teeth with all-ceramic crowns.
If retreatment of the root canal is ever needed, fiber posts can be drilled out more safely than metal posts.
At EUR 75 per post, this small investment significantly extends the lifespan and reliability of your crowned tooth.
Immediately After
No Discomfort
Post placement is performed on a root-canal-treated (non-vital) tooth, so there is no nerve sensation. No pain is expected.
Same Day
Crown Preparation
In most cases, the tooth is prepared for a crown in the same appointment. No separate recovery period is needed.
Ongoing
Long-Term Function
The post and crown function as a unit. Normal oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups maintain the restoration.
Duration
20-30 minutes
Hospital Stay
Outpatient clinic
Recovery
None
Permanence
10-15 years (with crown)
Anaesthesia
Usually none (tooth is non-vital)

Immediate
No. Posts are only needed when there is insufficient remaining tooth structure to retain a crown on its own. If most of the tooth walls are intact, a direct core build-up may be sufficient.
For most cases, yes. Fiber posts reduce root fracture risk and are aesthetically superior. Metal posts may still be preferred in rare high-load situations on back teeth, but fiber posts are the modern standard of care.
Fiber posts are specifically designed to minimise fracture risk. Unlike rigid metal posts, they flex with the tooth under biting forces, distributing stress more evenly.
Yes. The fiber post is a separate component placed before the crown. Your MedProper treatment plan will clearly list both items.
