Open Rhinoplasty

The columellar incision is extremely small (approximately 4-5 mm) and is placed in the natural shadow beneath the nose. In the vast majority of patients, it heals into a barely visible fine line within three to six months and is virtually undetectable.

Open rhinoplasty provides the surgeon with direct visualisation of the entire nasal framework, enabling more precise modifications. It is preferred for complex cases, significant tip work, asymmetry correction, and revision rhinoplasty where accuracy is paramount.

Most patients describe post-operative discomfort as mild to moderate, comparable to sinus congestion. Pain is well-managed with prescribed oral analgesics. The sensation of nasal congestion due to internal swelling is typically more bothersome than actual pain.

Yes. If a deviated septum or enlarged turbinates contribute to breathing difficulties, these can be corrected during the same procedure. This combined approach is called septorhinoplasty and is included without additional charge when clinically indicated.

You will notice a significant improvement once the splint is removed at one week. However, residual swelling — especially at the nasal tip — continues to refine over 12 to 18 months. Approximately 80 percent of the result is visible by the three-month mark.
